My values and principles

- Curiosity: a genuine desire to learn more about the world, how it works, what’s broken about it, what can be made better, how it can be made better, and why it’s the way it is. An inherent sense of wonder about everything.
- Kindness and generosity: to give more than what is taken, when possible and give second chances. To care about more than just yourself and your well-being. To be helpful. I think the world lacks kind people by orders of magnitude more than it lacks “smart” people.
- Humility: an appreciation for the infinite things you can learn from anyone and gratitude for your initial supporters (not take things for granted!). To think less about yourself, but not less of yourself (C.S. Lewis).
- Openness: approaching new ideas/people/places without judgement and being highly receptive to being proven wrong.
- Self-awareness (high self-agency, by extension): to not delude yourself. Also, to take accountability for yourself.
- Self-drive and resilience: to be more intrinsically motivated than extrinsically, and bounce back when things don’t go as intended.
- Hardworking: generally, no excuses.
- Sincerity and thoughtfulness: to never half-a** conversation, people, or work. To show you care, when it matters.
- High integrity: no BS-ing others, and especially not yourself; so you are respecting others’ and your own time. I think your actions and work should speak for themselves.
- Honesty: being truthful, in whatever sense applies.
- Realistic optimism: balanced beliefs.
And generally, having fun. Some of my most interesting projects were meme-ed into existence or started from a casual and unrelated conversation :)
